Filipino Martial Arts | Balintawak
Oni Dojo works with Stick Fighting Toronto to bring Taboada Balintawak to the Calgary area. Balintawak is a martial arts system from the Philippines that prioritizes simplicity, speed, and power. This system focuses on self-defense and dueling using blunt force weapons over bladed weapons. Classes focus on every student becoming a competent attacker and defender by leading and following in partner drills, with the art having a heavy emphasis on learning defensive skills and making every student a confident teacher.
Beginner Balintawak: Learn the basics of Taboada Balintawak, focusing on the curriculum that characterizes this system.
Advanced Balintawak: Go beyond the basic curriculum and explore balintawak at a deeper level, focusing on higher level and more advanced drills and techniques. Requires competency in Level 3 Taboada Balintawak.
